What inspired you to start your own brand?
My inspiration actually came after one of the hardest times of my life. After a three year battle of depression and health issues, I came across and trained in Reiki. My first range of products were a room spray and essential oils for my clients to take home and it sparked an interest in making products for myself that were safe to use. I’ve always been drawn to herbs, gardens, anything and everything natural! I love making people feel good!
How did you go about launching Indie & Mae?
We started small with the incredibly well run General Collective Markets. It was so inspiring & was a game changer for us in so many ways!
What has been one of the biggest challenges that you have faced since starting, and what have you learned from it?
Hmm so many but I think balancing working sometimes with
corporate worlds & getting caught up in the adrenaline of it when
actually I lead a pretty simple life & always need to remember to ground
myself afterwards.
Have you had to adapt your business during COVID-19? If so, how?
For us, Covid has been incredibly powerful, we are currently looking into exporting some of our products overseas which is so exciting. But our
biggest adaptation has been planning nearly a year ahead because
everything takes a lot longer now than previously.
What makes Indie & Mae unique?
We are passionate about creating daily Rituals for women to feel
beautiful inside & out with products that don’t compromise their health.
We want each person to open their parcel & feel loved.

As exciting & tempting as it is to rush into it, do a business plan…
Why do you think it is important to support local businesses?
We all come from humble beginnings. You are not just supporting them
financially but you’re supporting their dream.
What do you love most about running your own business?
I am based from home so I love being able to have the best of all things
that I love in one spot… soul food!
